Shining Awards: Agitator Whisky Triumphs at IWSC Awards

Complex aromas, an expressive flavor palette, and unique blends: Agitator Whisky is celebrating four gleaming awards at this year’s IWSC. Chestnut Cask, Argument Sweet Toast, and The Swedish Blend each secured a Silver award amidst strong competition. Blind Seal Straight Rye received a Bronze award.

The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) was established in London in 1969 and is known for its rigorous evaluation and demanding selection process. Every taste sample is assessed by an expert jury, overseen by an evaluation committee, ensuring fairness and consistency.

“The IWSC, thanks to the vast expertise of its elite jurors from around the world, its high recognition, and its influence, is one of the most prestigious competitions for wine and spirits worldwide. An IWSC medal is a true seal of quality,” says Oskar Bruno, Distillery Manager and Master Blender at Agitator.

IWSC and its medals are globally recognized both in trade and among consumers. Producers submit their product samples, which are then tested and evaluated. The results can be found under IWSC Results. The award ceremony will take place in October.

Reviews of an Award-winning Quartet

• Agitator Chestnut Cask, Silver (93 points): Complex aromas of orange peel, candied pineapple, and spicy vanilla. Notes of roasted nuts and dark oak are interwoven in the wonderfully complex, sweet, and fruity taste.
• Agitator Argument Sweet Toast, Silver (93 points): Fine peat and salty aromas with hints of heather. The expressive flavor palette impresses with notes of smoke, red apples, and sweet red berries with a complex finish.
• Agitator The Swedish Blend, Silver (92 points): Pronounced grain aromas with candied citrus peel and sweet caramel. The taste offers a fruity richness and a smoky note, with plenty of sweetness from white berries. Wonderfully complex. Excellent as an accompaniment to food.
• Blind Seal Straight Rye, Bronze (85 points): Aromas of dried fruits and pepper lead to a lively, peppery, and spicy taste. A captivating blend of flavors makes every sip exciting.

Further International Awards

Agitator has already won several awards over the past year. In March, Agitator Blended (now Agitator The Swedish Blend) won Double Gold, and Blind Seal Straight Rye won Silver at the World Whiskies Awards. Before the turn of the year 2023/2024, both Agitator Single Malt and Agitator Blended (Agitator The Swedish Blend) secured Gold in the French wine and spirits guide 1001 Dégustation.
